TPi gives travel planning advice to Energy Saving Trust in Scotland

TPi has just been awarded its first contract to provide travel planning advice for a client of the Energy Saving Trust (EST) in Scotland. Under the EST scheme any business with more than 50 employees and/or 10,000 visitors a year may be eligible for a FREE travel plan.

The aims of the scheme are to encourage employees to travel more sustainably either by car sharing, using public transport, walking or cycling to work. It can also involve looking at alternative forms of business travel thereby reducing costs to business. The scheme is particularly good for companies that have issues with car parking, for example, expensive rentals, a lack of spaces, or are looking to reduce staff travel expenses.

A travel plan can also help support a company's BS EN ISO14001 Environmental Management standard and is an excellent example of Corporate Social Responsibility. Warren Murphy, TPi's Regional Manager in Scotland says, 'we are pleased to be able to support the Energy Saving Trust in Scotland in its efforts to reduce the environmental impacts of transport, reduce energy consumption and ultimately encourage businesses to play a part in reducing climate change impacts. We would very much encourage businesses to look at the Scotland pages on EST's website www.est.org.uk and fill in the application form for travel planning advice or contact either Warren Murphy at TPi or EST for more details.'
