TPi a key participant in designing for sustainable communities

TPi Director Howard Potter was named as a key participant in the team winning the Royal Town Planning Institute's award for sustainable communities.

This prestigious accolade was awarded for the Adamstown Strategic Development (SDZ) Zone project in South Dublin.

The judges commented "We were impressed by the quality and scale of the development at Adamstown. It is of a size often advocated for new settlements and as such is a model for developments elsewhere".

TPi took the lead on a major Integrated Planning and Transportation study for South Dublin County Council and the Dublin Transportation Office for the fast developing Lucan and Clondalkin sub-region located just south of Dublin's M50 orbital motorway. As well as advising on on the design layout, densities, and multi-modal transport provisions for the Adamstown SDZ, TPi's Director Alan Bailes successfully represented the Council at the public inquiry into the project.

Issued: March 2009
